A Corus Hi-Point off-site modular roofing system has been used for the fast-track construction of the Eastfields Station in south London

The roof was specified by Dean & Dyball partly for its speed of installation, which had to be carried out in train-free periods. Just two Hi-Point 鈥渨arm roof鈥 modules, each measuring 3.75m by 12.5m, were required to create the low-pitched pyramid roof that covers the station building. The modules were constructed off-site and comprise a lightweight steel frame 鈥 which also creates the roof pitch 鈥 onto which are mounted a liner deck, vapour control layer, thermal insulation, flashings, insulated walkable gutters all topped with Kalzip aluminium standing-seam roof sheets. The overall construction delivers a U-value of 0.25 W/m2K.

For the external areas of the station, Hi-Point 鈥渃old roof鈥 cassettes were used. These comprise a lightweight steel frame with secret fix clips affixed to the upper side to take the single skin mono-pitched Kalzip roof sheets which are zipped to the adjacent unit when in situ.
