...or any of these other essential items when you pack your bags for MIPIM
What to take
1. Sunglasses
A pair of shades will protect you from the glare of the sun and prevent others from seeing your bleary eyes. But remember, this is MIPIM, not the Film Festival – never wear them indoors.
2. Suncream
Even in March you can get sunburnt in Cannes. Go for an SPF of at least 15.
3. Gel inserts
Comfortable shoes are advisable for women but no one wants to wear flatties all the time. Scholl Party Feet will make heels more bearable.
4. Downloadable Michelin guide
The Michelin hotel and restaurant guides now come in space-saving downloadable versions for PDAs. See www.shop. viamichelin.com
5. Alarm clock
To make sure you don’t miss the first coffee and croissant of the day.
6. Sorbothane insoles
These high-performance insoles will absorb shock and protect your feet from any networking-induced injuries as you work your way up and down the Croisette.
7. Eye mask
Keep chilled in your hotel mini-bar and wear over tired eyes to soothe an aching head as you lie down in a darkened room, should the need arise.
8. Box of business cards
Tickets, passport, MIPIM entry badge… You’d kick yourself if you forgot your business cards too.
9. Personal Powerstation
This handy gadget is a wind-up mobile phone charger, torch and radio in one. £14.95 from www.iwantoneofthose.com
10. Resolve
For the morning after. You know it makes sense.
