Shanghai Tower general manager Gu Jian Ping and RLB Asia MD Stephen Lai show off the model for China's tallest building
The Shanghai Tower will eventually be the tallest building in China and the second tallest in the world.
The 632m tower has been designed by Gensler with structural engineering by Thornton Tomasetti. The building is made up of nine units stacked on top of each other, with a rotating building envelope. Nine atrium gardens will be created between the envelope and the inner facade layer. The tower will be located in the Lujiazui finance and trade zone.
Construction work has already started on the tower.
