Practice unveils concept designs for scheme at Beijing despite missing out on original deal
Zaha Hadid Architects has been added to the team for the 拢9bn scheme to build a new terminal at Beijing鈥檚 new international airport, even though it failed to make the shortlist of the project鈥檚 original design competition.
ADP Ingeni茅rie, the French public company that owns and looks after Paris鈥檚 Charles de Gaulle and Orly airports, beat Foster鈥檚 last year to design the 700,000sq m Terminal 1 building at Daxing, Beijing.
It has now emerged that Hadid was drafted in to complete a concept design for the scheme, as part of a team that includes Pascall & Watson, Buro Happold, Mott MacDonald and EC Harris.
