Bank鈥檚 neighbours will include David Adjaye college
Zaha Hadid Architects has landed the job of designing a technology park at Moscow鈥檚 400ha Skolkovo Innovation Centre.
The practice beat Foster + Partners, Italy鈥檚 Fuksas and US practice Eric Owen Moss with a design believed to be one of the last by Hadid herself.
The 130,000sq m Sberbank Technopark will be home to the bank鈥檚 IT and marketing departments, accommodating more than 10,000 people.
Skolkovo is known as Moscow鈥檚 Silicon Valley. It is also home to David Adjaye鈥檚 Moscow School of Management (pictured).
Christos Passas, project director at Zaha Hadid Architects, said: 鈥淭he incredible belief in the power of invention attracted Zaha Hadid to the Russian avant-garde.
鈥淪he realised how architecture can enrich creativity; how space itself can enhance dynamism, complexity, coherence and continuity. These principles are embedded within the Sberbank Technopark design.鈥
The winning scheme aims to create an environment that promotes collaboration and innovation, he added.
Work is due to complete in 2019.
