Raymond Young will chair new Architecture and Design Scotland organisation, which will perform similar role to CABE.
Raymond Young OBE has been appointed chair of the newly formed Architecture and Design Scotland.
Professor Brian Evans and Malcolm Fraser have been appointed deputy chairs of the new public body that will champion design and architecture in Scotland.
The Architecture and Design Scotland will take over the independent design review role of the Royal Fine Art Commission for Scotland (RFACS) from April 2005.
There are two architects among the three appointees. Young is an architect and previously worked as a member of the UK Sustainable Development Commission. and Fraser is the principal of Malcolm Fraser Architects and has won the Scottish architect of the year award twice. Evans, an urban designer and planner, is a partner in Gillespies.
The appointments will took effect from December 1 2004 and run to 31 March 2009.
