Wolseley has announced seven acquisitions, taking its spending to a record 拢900m this year.

The building materials supplier has spent 拢89m acquiring five companies in North America and two firms in Europe.

These take Wolseley's acquisitions to 50 since August last year, worth around 拢900m in total.

Charlie Banks, group chief executive of Wolseley said: "We are delighted to announce these new bolt-on acquisitions which continue to support our strategy of geographic and product expansion."
