Contractor to build homes and a school for Westminster City Council
Willmott Dixon has won a 拢80m development in Paddington for Westminster City Council.
The Dudley House project comprises a residential tower with a new home for Marylebone Boys鈥 School and community space for the Central Pentecostal Church.
Part of the Paddington basin regeneration, the development will offer 197 affordable homes to rent for people living or working in Westminster, and allows Marylebone Boys鈥 School to move to a permanent home from its temporary location in Brent.
The school will be ready for September next year, while the homes will be finished in Spring 2019.
Chris Tredget, managing director of Willmott Dixon in Hitchin, said: 鈥淭his will soon be an important part of the Paddington Basin helping to provide new homes and school places. Importantly, it plays to our strengths and know-how of working on tight, constrained sites in urban locations.鈥
Nickie Aiken, leader of Westminster City Council, said: 鈥淎ffordable housing is one of our top priorities, and I鈥檓 delighted to see work progressing on this key site as part of the council鈥檚 commitment to creating great places where people are proud to live and work.鈥
