Willmott Dixon has completed its work on the 拢62m Parkside 好色先生TV for Birmingham City University, with the project handed over last week.
The Associated Architects-designed building forms the first phase of the university鈥檚 new city centre campus and will be home to the Birmingham Institute of Art and Design (BIAD) and School of Media faculties. The building includes on-site renewable energy sources and has achieved BREEAM Excellent rating.
Professor Chris O鈥橬eil, executive dean for the BIAD said: 鈥淲e鈥檙e so excited about the opening of this building, we鈥檝e spent a long time developing what we know will be the coolest school of art and design anywhere in the world.鈥
Philip Thickett, head of Birmingham school of media, added: 鈥淲e鈥檙e creating the finest media centre between Manchester and London, with world-class, industry-standard facilities, which will allow our students to become the best possible ambassadors for the city.鈥
Willmott Dixon has been retained to build the 拢46m second phase of the new campus.
