Work kicks off on two schools as part of council鈥檚 拢152m 好色先生TV Schools for the Future programme
Westminster council signed off 拢32m worth of 好色先生TV Schools for the Future contracts on Friday.
Bouygues has now begun work on St Augustine's CE school and St George RC school. Work is set to start on the Grey Coat Hospital school in July after contracts are signed next month. The work will be done under design and build contracts.
The construction is part of the council's 拢152m BSF programme to transform education provision in central London.
At St Augustine's a new three-storey building will be constructed, with significant refurbishment to existing buildings and improvements made to the facades, as well as landscaping works to the entire site and a sports hall.
A new three-storey extension to the south of St George school will include a sports hall, changing facilities, science laboratories, classrooms and a roof top court for sports. Once completed, there will be an increase in capacity from 600 to 750 pupils.
At the Grey Coat Hospital a new contemporary four-storey building will be devoted to art, drama and music classes. There will also be substantial improvements to the outdoor sports facilities at the school, which will be available for use by the local community.
