Hub behind plans for 239-home redevelopment of Chesterfield House
Plans by Maccreanor Lavington Architects for a brace of residential towers at former council offices in Wembley have been given the green light by local planners.
Chesterfield House was home to Brent council鈥檚 education department until it moved into the Hopkins-designed Civic Centre three years ago.
The building has been used for a number of local initiatives since but is now set to be torn down and replaced by two towers of 26 and 21 storeys with space for 239 homes.
The 21-storey north tower, which will be two-thirds affordable with these flats offered at discount market rent, will also house a community centre on the ground floor.
Developer on the north-west London project is Hub, which is also working on the Old Vinyl Factory scheme across the capital in west London, where it is behind 189 homes for the rent at the site where millions of records by the Beatles and the Rolling Stones were pressed at the EMI vinyl pressing plant. Architect on the scheme, called Material Store, is Newground Architects.
And Hub is also working with CZWG on the 360 home Hoola scheme at the Royal Docks in east London.
