Administration move hits 140 jobs and 100 subcontractors
Aluminium cladding and curtain walling specialist Glamalco has gone into administration, with the loss of 140 jobs.
The failure of the 拢18m-turnover firm, which is based in Cardiff, will also hit more than 100 subcontractors.
Richard Hill and Joff Pope of KPMG have been appointed joint administrators of Glamalco and its holding company, Glamorgan Aluminium Company.
The firm, which has been trading for almost 40 years, employed 156 staff across three sites in Cardiff, Andover and Redditch.
The company made 140 redundancies before going into administration, retaining just 16 employees to assist in the administration process.
The administrators said that Glamalco had been encountering cash-flow difficulties and that an orderly wind-down of the business would now procedd.
