Construction of the 拢150m Meteorological Office at Exeter, Devon, will begin this month.
The Met Office signed a deal with the Stratus consortium, made up of Skanska, Costain and Group 4 Falck Global Solutions, last week.
A Skanska and Costain joint venture will carry out the construction, which includes two "supercomputer halls", an energy centre and a library. Construction will take two years.
