Lia Silva joins from Ballymore
Wates Residential has appointed a new development director.
Former Ballymore senior development manager Lia Silva’s (pictured) appointment comes as the business looks to expand its presence across London and the south.
Silva joins Wates to lead delivery of one of London’s biggest housing regeneration projects – a £1bn scheme in partnership with Havering council.
In March, Wates announced it would be working with Havering to regenerate 12 council estates, providing 3,000 new homes across the borough over the next 12 years.
In June Wates and Havering appointed a consultant team including Aecom and GL Hearn to carry out work on the east London regeneration scheme.
The joint venture has recently held a series of consultation events across those estates first in line for a revamp.
Silva, who also worked for architect Allies and Morrison, was responsible for leading Ballymore’s development management team on the new 40 acre Royal Wharf development in East London.
