Eco-credentials include heat being drawn from the ground, low energy appliances and recycling systems
Urban Splash will launch the next phase of its Lakeshore development in Bristol following the success of the property scheme at the Hartcliffe site.
The multi-disciplinary developer will build 50 more apartments, a mix of studios, one and two bed apartments in September.
Heat for the building will be drawn from the ground, appliances will meet the best low energy criteria and there will be systems in place to help make recycling simple.
The iconic Bristol building was originally designed by the US architect for Imperial Tobacco and is one of the finest examples in the country of a structure built with a special type of steel (Cor-ten) which has an 800 year design life.
Jason Collard, managing director in the south west, said: 鈥淲e have not had any properties at Lakeshore on sale since January but have still received a lot of enquiries through this year, in spite of the challenging economy.
鈥淚t seems the chance of living in a landmark building, with its own 10 acre grounds and lake, just 15 minutes from the city centre, has genuinely captured the imagination.鈥
Features include contemporary design, high ceilings, full height glazing and external balcony space. Internal open spaces, including a dramatic atrium and winter gardens, rooftop viewing points as well as the extensive landscaped grounds including its very own lake, are all part of the deal.
James Howard, associate director in the south west, said: 鈥淭his promises to be a fantastic period for South Bristol with Phase 1 of development at Hengrove Park recently receiving planning approval.
鈥淭his includes the construction of a new community Hospital, a new Bristol Skills Academy, and a new sports and leisure facility, all scheduled for the next few years. This really is an exciting time for this part of the city.鈥
