Green property firm’s annual report finds development in sustainable services up in 2007
Last year was an exceptionally good year for green property firm Upstream with record turnover figures and exciting new developments in the sustainability sector, according to the firm’s fourth annual sustainability performance report.
Pre-tax profits amounted to 20% of total revenue for the period to 14 November 2007.
There was also a 26% reduction in the firm’s carbon footprint per employee even though the number of staff has almost doubled in this period.
The acquisition by Jones Lang LaSalle in November 2007 was critical in bringing sustainability into the mainstream real estate market.
It helped extend the influence of Upstream’s advice and research through the parent company’s range of advisory, transaction and management services in this sector.
Upstream has also received its second nomination in three years for the mayor of London’s Green Procurement Code award.
