The chosen contractor will deliver the £27m main package of works to deliver the Institute for Advanced Automotive Propulsion Systems
The University of Bath is on the hunt for a contractor to deliver its £60m Institute for Advanced Automotive Propulsion Systems.
In a contract notice posted on the Official Journal of the European Union, the university said it required a contractor to deliver testing, research and development spaces for automotive studies.
The main contractor will be paid £27m to deliver the Bristol and Bath Science Park-based scheme.
Stride Treglown and DKA were selected as the architects to design the building in December last year.
Stride Treglown is lead consultant, designing the overall building envelope, office spaces and site-wide development, assisted by Bath-based DKA who will apply specialist automotive knowledge to develop and coordinate the design of the complex testing facilities.
Other consultants working on the job include Turner & Townsend as project manager and Fulkers as cost consultants. Aecom is providing M&E services, while WSP is acting as the structural and civil engineer on the job.
Contractors have until 20 August to express interest in the project.
