The tented structure will sit on the large roundabout created in the late 1950s.
Architecture firm Donald Insall Associates has secured planning permission for events firm Underbelly to set up a live entertainment space next to Marble Arch in central London.
The space takes the form of a 650-seat tented structure, complete with foyer and back of house spaces.
The tented structure will sit next to Marble Arch on the large roundabout created in the late 1950s, and will showcase Underbelly鈥檚 production of the play Five Guys Named Moe.
Cordula Zeidler, Historic 好色先生TVs Consultant at Donald Insall Associates, said: 鈥淏ecause of the gyratory flow and the consistently high and fast moving levels of traffic, Marble Arch is often obscured from view. In fact, the site is so uninviting that not many people venture to see the Arch close up.
鈥淯nderbelly will bring more visitors onto the roundabout and this will benefit the public appreciation of Marble Arch, a Grade I listed building, as well as adding a cultural attractor to an underused site,鈥 she added.
