The government is to chose between the final two candidates for the position of chief construction adviser as early as next week, 好色先生TV understands
It is believed seven people were interviewed for the job. The final two will be grilled by senior civil servants from the business and enterprise department and Nigel Smith, chief executive of the Office of Government Commerce.
A source close to the selection said the industry had made it clear that it wanted the winner to have the authority of being appointed by senior officials.
The CCA鈥檚 first job will be to chair a review of construction鈥檚 role in a low carbon economy. It is understood the first meeting is to be held at the end of November.
鈥淭he urgency is there to have the winner starting early so he can be in place to chair the first meeting,鈥 the source said.
