Public sector consultant Tribal Group, which owns architect Nightingale and social housing consultancy Hacas, has reported that secured income has risen since the start of the year

The firm, which is looking to sell Nightingale, said committed income stood at 拢278m, up 28% from the start of the year. The company has now secured 68% of its planned revenue for the year and said it was making progress on its cost reduction plan.

However, in an interim management statement this week, it reported no progress on the sale of Nightingale. It said: 鈥淲e are continuing to explore the strategic options for each of our three support services businesses and we will provide a further update on progress in due course.鈥

Tribal, which advises the government on health and education policy, bought Nightingale Associates in 2002 for 拢9m. It announced in March that architecture, along with resourcing and communications, was 鈥渘o longer core to the group鈥檚 central operations鈥.

Peter Martin, chief executive, said: 鈥淭ribal is very well-positioned to support public sector organisations as it undertakes change and to participate in an expected acceleration of outsourcing opportunities that will contribute to the improvement in public sector efficiencies.鈥
