Spencer Stuart appointed to headhunt his successor
Tom Foulkes is to step down from his role as ICE director general at the end of this year. Foulkes has decided not to renew his contract and will retire after almost ten years in the role.
He began his career with the Royal Engineers in 1971 and joined the MOD weapons staff in 1982. He was promoted to brigadier in 1998 before taking up his current role with ICE in 2002.
ICE has already begun the recruitment process for a new DG. Executive search company Spencer Stuart has been appointed to assist the process, working with a selection panel drawn from council members and chaired by senior VP Richard Coackley.
According to ICE the key responsibilities for the new DG will be to 鈥渋ncrease membership鈥, 鈥渞aise the profile of civil engineering鈥 and 鈥減lace knowledge at the heart of the Institution鈥檚 activities.鈥
Richard Coackley commented: 鈥淭his is a vital role in continuing the development of the Institution. I would encourage ICE members to put forward names of suitable candidates.鈥
