Construction consultant Tuffin Ferraby Taylor has launched a new cost consultancy division.

TFT 鈥� which is better known as a building surveyor and project manager 鈥� has recruited six cost consultants to the division, which will be headed up by former Aecom senior associate Liam Drawwater.

The division will work across a range of market sectors throughout TFT鈥檚 regional offices in London, Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Guildford and Manchester.

Clients will be able to recruit TFT for cost consultancy as a stand-alone service, or as part of a package of other services.

Dan Henn, TFT鈥檚 partner in charge of project consultancy, said TFT was entering the cost consultancy market in response to 鈥渃lient demand鈥� and planned to 鈥渙rganically grow鈥� the division.

He added: 鈥淥ur main client base is investors and developers [鈥�] increasingly they are asking us 鈥榳hat can we do with these buildings?鈥� and 鈥榳hat is it going to cost?鈥�

鈥淐ost consultants can answer those questions. It鈥檚 an important service when there鈥檚 so much competition and returns are tight.鈥�
