The £5.3m, 2600 m sq store was completed in 22 weeks, six weeks faster than a conventional supermarket. And Tesco's construction team is understood to be impressed with its performance since it opened four months ago.
Yorkon's Hi-Bay modular system was used for walls and ceiling, and the office areas were fabricated off-site and brought in as units.
The company would not discuss plans for modular construction but an industry source that carries out construction contracts for Tesco said: "The company is trialling a variety of modular systems before deciding how to take forward the modular process."
