Bristol 220-acre site could accommodate 700 homes
Housebuilder Taylor Wimpey has bought the former Cadbury factory in Keynsham near Bristol in a £35m deal.
US confectionary giant Kraft closed the factory – which used to produce Curly Wurlys, Crunchies and Double Decker chocolate bars – after acquiring Cadbury two years ago.
The closure sparked a political and media backlash as the firm had intitially claimed it would keep the facility.
The 220-acre site could accommodate up to 700 homes and other amenities. Kraft confirmed the sale to the Mail on Sunday newspaper yesterday.
