UK Green 好色先生TV Council to help develop Code for Sustainable 好色先生TVs

The UK Green 好色先生TV Council (UK-GBC) has launched a taskforce to develop proposals for a Code for Sustainable 好色先生TVs.

The new group will lead an industry-wide consultation on the sort of code needed to help achieve the 2019 zero-carbon target.

The body said a 鈥渞ange鈥 of companies were being invited to join the taskforce, which will be chaired by its chief executive Paul King.

Paul King

King said: 鈥淲ith the upcoming government consultation on zero-carbon non-domestic buildings, this is an ideal moment to take stock and consider what kind of code and rating tools we need for the future.

鈥淚ndustry needs a clear and practical route map and milestones that are aligned with government policy to give it the confidence and knowledge to move forward on a trajectory to 2019.鈥

He added that 鈥渋ncreased harmonisation鈥 was needed between international tools, including LEED and Green Star, to respond to demand from multinational clients.

The consultation process is expected to run from this July to February, with final proposals being presented at a UK-GBC conference in March 2009.

Lend Lease chief executive and UK-GBC board member Daniel Labbad said: 鈥淭his is an extremely important initiative being undertaken by the UK-GBC that will explore how best to provide a platform which encourages innovation, while guiding the industry towards sustainability targets most effectively.鈥
