43% of firms say industry lacks the necessary green skills
Almost half of construction employers believe the industry lacks the necessary green skills, according to a survey by CITB-ConstructionSkills.
43% of respondents in a poll of 1,450 construction employers identified sustainability as the industry鈥檚 main skills gap.
The survey also showed 39% of firms believe workers are not skilled enough in identifying potential new business and 43% believe employees have insufficient IT skills.
Mark Farrar, chief executive of CITB-ConstructionSkills, said: 鈥淭he results clearly show that employers in the UK are aware of the challenges currently facing them and the wider industry.
