Project to be delivered in phases over 72 weeks to allow the library to continue to operate
Fit out firm Styles & Wood has won the contract to deliver the 拢8.6m refurbishment of Lancaster University Library.
The Sheppard Robson-designed project will include creating a new atrium from the existing courtyard, installation of new furnishings as well as a reconfiguration of the library鈥檚 stairs and mechanical and electrical upgrades.
The renovation project will be undertaken on a phased basis and is due to complete in January 2016.
The phased approach to the contract will allow the 12,000 students to continue to use the library during the refurbishment period, which will last 72 weeks.
Styles & Wood recently delivered the 拢4.1 million refurbishment at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester.
