Developer Westfield has submitted a detailed masterplan and environmental strategy for Stratford City, the regeneration project that will form a key part of east London鈥檚 Olympic legacy.
The plans, which have been submitted to the Olympic Delivery Authority, envisage more than 5,300 homes, as well as 1.25 million ft2 of retail, leisure and office space and hotels and community facilities.
About 3,000 of the homes will be used for the Olympic village during the 2012 Games.
Westfield says the scheme will deliver 鈥渟tringent sustainable development standards鈥.
John Burton, development director, said: 鈥淲ork is under way. We are on site doing preparation work and infrastructure design is well advanced.鈥
