150,000ft2 development designed by architect Squire and Partners will provide office, retail and restaurant space
Real estate fund manager Prupim has been granted planning permission for a 150,000ft2 mixed-use scheme at Brazennose House, near Deansgate in Manchester.
The development will provide grade A office space for corporate occupiers in the city centre. It also includes 3,600ft2 of retail and 4,800ft2 of restaurant space, and will include a new public piazza in front of St Mary’s Church.
The project has been designed by Squire and Partners on behalf of the building’s owners, The Prudential Assurance Company. The planning application was submitted to Manchester council after consultation with local businesses and St Mary’s Church.
Construction will commence once a pre-let has been found for the building. Demolition of the existing Brazennose House is expected to begin in spring 2012, and completion is anticipated around summer 2014.
