Scheme due to finish next year
Worcestershire-based Speller Metcalfe has won a £9m deal to build a new cyber security centre on the outskirts of Hereford.
Called the Hereford Centre for Cyber Security, the scheme, which has been designed by Birmingham-based practice Associated Architects, is being developed by the county council and Wolverhampton university.
The university will use it as a base to carry out research through its Cyber Security Research Institute while the centre will also provide office space for cyber businesses and advanced training facilities designed to tackle threats in cyberspace
Work is set to start later this spring, with the centre expected to open in 2020.
The 2,000m2 building will be built in Skylon Park, the 72ha home of the Hereford Enterprise Zone.
