Gent by Honeywell has launched a range of Air Sampling Detection (ASD) systems which detect smoke
The firms says the products in the range, called COMPACT ASD, COMPACT2 ASD, ALL-SPEC1 ASD, ALL-SPEC2 ASD, HI-SPEC1 ASD and HI-SPEC2 ASD, comply with the varying levels of sensitivity set out in EN54 part 20, the European standard for fire detection and fire alarm systems. The Gent range of ASD systems works by taking air samples from the monitored area and analysing these for the presence of smoke particles. The company says that active sampling technology enables the identification of a possible fire in its very earliest stages from just one gram of combusted material.
