Listed architect secures £1.2bn worth of new projects in the past two months
Listed architect SMC Group has secured £1.2bn worth of new projects in the last two months.
This includes a £100m mixed use scheme in Leicester for a new business quarter, a confidential £8m defence project in the south of England and a £25m bio-science facility in Cambridge.
The group, which includes SMC Alsop amongst its architects, has also set up a new division to take on work for the Olympic games. The new specialist division, SMC Sport & Leisure, will target the leisure market and is already working on the Royal Windsor Racecourse and two cricket grounds.
SMC Group is rapidly growing. At the end of May it acquired Charter Consultant Architects, following the acquisition of Alsop in March 2006.
The Group now has 16 offices in England and 4 outside the UK, in Toronto, Singapore, Shanghai and Beijing.
