Appointment by Land Securities to £177m city building
Developer Land Securities has appointed Skanska to build it s £177m 1 New Street Square development in the City of London.
The appointment is the third major appointment for Skanska by Land Secs in recent months, following on from the firm’s success on the Scalpel and 1&2 New Ludgate last year.
Skanska is reported to have beaten Mace and Sir Robert McAlpine to the 270,900 sq ft scheme, which is due to complete in June 2016.
The mixed-use building, designed by Robin Partington Architects, includes retail and leisure uses alongside 257,000 sq ft of offices.
