Third quarter results in the UK reveal increase in profit to 拢8.8m and 50% jump in turnover to 拢340m

Skanska鈥檚 UK division has reported a profit rise of over 40% in its third quarter results.

Operating profit at the contractor, which yesterday confirmed it had been appointed to build London鈥檚 Heron Tower, rose to 拢8.8m from 拢6.3m in the third quarter. Turnover rose to 拢339.6m from 拢226.1m over the period.

David Fison, Skanska UK chief executive, said: 鈥淚t鈥檚 all about continuous improvement. We are performing consistently but the game doesn鈥檛 change.

"We need to keep driving project performance 鈥� that means integrating our project teams better, helping our people give of their best and improving our procurement and design management.鈥�
