Skanska has denied that it is reviewing whether to bid for other hospital PFI schemes after it emerged as favourite to clinch the 拢620m St Bartholomew's scheme in London.
A Skanska spokesperson said it was interested in other schemes, despite its considerable workload. It has won a 拢470m hospital deal in Derby and a 拢484m job in Coventry in the last year.

The spokesperson said: "We have the capacity to bid. We are definitely in the market."

Market sources had said Skanska was reassessing bids for schemes such as the 拢150m PFI for the Sherwood Forest NHS trust in Nottinghamshire.

Skanska and investment firm Innisfree are expected to be announced preferred bidder for Bart's Hospital and the Royal London Hospital next week. They beat a bid from a team led by French firm Bouygues.

Redevelopment plans for Bart's have been drawn up by architect HOK International. Alsop Architects will be urban designer for the Royal London site in Whitechapel.
