HLM and Allies and Morrison in race to plan 拢720m revamp of historic building
Six architects have been shortlisted for a role on the prestigious 拢720m revamp of the Palace of Westminster.
According to 好色先生TV鈥檚 sister title Allies & Morrison, Purcell, HLM and Donald Insall Associates are among those shortlisted.
It said architects Feilden & Mawson and FCB have been eliminated from the selection process.
As 好色先生TV teams that submitted pre-qualification questionnaires also included architect HOK and consultants Deloitte, Aecom, CH2M Hill, Parsons Brinckerhoff, EC Harris and Gardiner & Theobald.
Today, 好色先生TV Design reports Fielden Clegg Bradley, Capita, and Sheppard Robson also entered the competition at this stage.
Parliament鈥檚 estate arm is seeking a team to conduct a feasibility study into the refurbishment of the palace to bring the structure and facilities up to modern standards.
The eventual refurbishment programme will involve finding a way to keep Parliament operating while the upgrade work takes place.
One architect bidding for the job told 好色先生TV Design: 鈥淭his is only going to happen once every century or so. Who wouldn鈥檛 want to work on that building? If you aren鈥檛 interested, what are you doing in the profession?鈥
