Large commercial practice buys long-standing Edgbaston firm Crouch Butler Savage

Sidell Gibson Architects is to buy Birmingham-based architect Crouch Butler Savage for an undisclosed sum.

Sidell Gibson, known mainly for commercial developments such as the Paddington Central scheme, will take on all of Crouch Butler Savage's staff and the lease on its Edgbaston office, which will now trade as Sidell Gibson Crouch Butler.

A joint statement from the two architects said the acquisition represented 鈥渁 natural development of an ongoing commercial collaboration鈥.

Sidell Gibson already has a substantial presence in Birmingham, acting as masterplanner and lead architect on Ballymore's 拢250m Snowhill development. It ranks joint 53rd in 好色先生TV's top 100 architects by size in the UK.

Crouch Butler Savage is one of Birmingham's oldest architects, and is working on the 拢70m Edgbaston Mill development for developer Calthorpe.
