Sellar and Great Western Developments’ redevelopment of former Royal Mail sorting office will create 200 homes
Shard developer Sellar and Great Western Developments have unveiled proposals to transform a former Royal Mail sorting office next to London’s Paddington station into a new skyscraper and mixed-use scheme.
The development, called 31 London Street, will comprise a 65-storey tower of 200 homes and 150,000ft2 of office space, and over an acre of new public realm.
It will also provide 50,000ft2 of retail space and an open-air roof garden, inspired by Kew Gardens and London’s garden squares, which will offer panoramic views of London.
A planning application is expected to be submitted before the end of the year. Work is due to finish by early 2019.
