Structures specialist forecasts a 鈥渧ery tough鈥 2011 with demand at relatively low levels
Structures specialist Severfield-Rowen has reported its order book is holding up but warned a broad recovery for the UK economy 鈥渞emains distant鈥.
The company said its order book had held up at 拢221m as of March, marginally down from 拢226m the previous year.
But the firm said prices had marginally improved compared to 2009, in a trading statement to the City this morning.
The firm added: 鈥淭he company鈥檚 present view of the UK market is unchanged, in that demand remains at relatively low levels with little prospect of improvement in 2011.
鈥淪everfield-Rowen is maintaining its strong domestic market position and will continue its efforts to optimise UK performance in a very tough market.
鈥淭he company鈥檚 experience and abilities are now being successfully focussed into international markets where opportunity remains strong.鈥
