King is the second high profile Bovis director to jump ship to Candy & Candy in recent months – John Howell joined the developer as construction director last May, having left his position as head of Bovis’ southern division.

During 19 years of working at Bovis, King oversaw major projects such as Bluewater, the redevelopment of the London Stock Exchange and had been working on the Athletes Village for the 2012 Olympic Games.

Candy & Candy, best known for their luxury resi schemes such as the Foster-designed Chesham Place in Belgravia, have made a string of high-profile appointments over the past year from Stanhope, Multiplex, Berkeley Group and Foster + Partners.

High-profile developments on the books include Make’s £1bn Noho Square development and Rogers Stirk Harbour’s scheme at Chelsea Barracks.
