Morrison warns council campus won鈥檛 open in October as planned
A 拢48.5m school campus in Scotland will not open in October as planned, the project鈥檚 main contractor has told the local council.
The Highland council said it was warned by Morrison Construction that the Wick Joint Campus had been delayed.
Once complete, the campus will include the new Wick High School, East Caithness community facilities, and Newton Park Primary School replacing the former Pulteneytown and South Primary Schools.
In a statement, the council said: 鈥淩egrettably it seems unlikely that the campus will be ready to open in October, as envisaged.
鈥淗ighland Council intends the best facilities possible for children and staff, and will not accept these buildings until work is completed.
鈥淭he Council is working with the contractor to determine what the earliest possible date is for completion of the whole Wick Joint Campus project, and will make further announcements as soon.鈥
