Dutch-owned contractor HBG will rebrand to become Bam Construct UK later this year.
The move, which will be formally announced in October, is designed to raise the profile of Dutch parent Royal Bam Group in the UK, according to a company spokesperson.
As part of the changes, Edmund Nuttall, the civil engineering firm owned by the same 拢7bn-turnover parent, will become Bam Nuttall.
The spokesperson said: 鈥淲e want our customers and suppliers to know that we are part of the Royal Bam Group, which is a highly successful and profitable business. We will be talking to them all over the next few months.鈥
Bam Construct UK will include five rebranded divisions: Bam Construction, Bam Design, Bam Properties, Bam Plant and Bam FM.
The spokesperson denied that the rebranding exercise was a sign Bam was looking to strengthen its UK position through acquisition. 鈥淭here are no plans to buy anyone. Our fundamental strategies remain the same.鈥
HBG was bought by Royal Bam in 2002 for 鈧715m (拢560m). The spokesperson said the decision to change the name now was part of a 鈥渘atural progression鈥.
n In our top 150 contractors supplement last week we incorrectly stated that HBG鈥檚 pre-tax profit for 2007 was 拢39.5m. We are happy to clarify that the figure was actually 拢48.7m.
