Tata Steel’s products were used on the roof at London Victoria Station
Around 10,000m2 of Tata Steel’s Panels and Profiles’ products were specified for the £35m roof refurbishment project at London Victoria Station. A complete structural refurbishment was needed for this grade-II listed building. The company’s R46 profiled metal sheet was fitted to the two 40m span, 100m long main barrel-vaulted roofs, to a 26m radius curve. The installation also incorporated obscure glazing to match the original patent glazing system. The R46 profile was finished on both sides with the company’s Colorcoat HPS200 Ultra, with a Goosewing Grey finish on the external face and a Straw finish on the internal face. The company says the R46 profile was selected by Network Rail due to its ability to span approximately 2.8m from purlin to purlin.
