Carillion successfully install Corus Kalzip roofing system on Snowdon's famous tourist attraction

Snowdon鈥檚 new mountain-top visitor centre is one step nearer completion after Carillion installed a Corus roof recently.

Despite limited space and weather conditions described as 'horrendous', Carillion installed Corus Kalzip鈥檚 Hi-Point off-site roofing system on the structure, located on the peak of Wales' highest mountain.

The 拢8.3m Hafod Eryri visitor's centre, designed by Ray Hole Architects, replaces the previous 鈥楽nowdon Caf茅鈥�, once described by Prince Charles as 鈥淏ritain鈥檚 Highest Slum.鈥� It was erected in 1935 and demolished in 2006.

The visitor's centre must be completed by summer 2008 for it to qualify for European funding.
