Rok boss Garvis Snook said he was 鈥渇urious鈥� after repeatedly being assured that a division which eventually suffered a 拢6.4m loss was doing fine

Last week Rok announced a pre-tax loss of 拢3.8m for the six months to 30 June. The disappointing figure was primarily caused by an unspotted 拢6.4m loss in its plumbing, heating and electrical division.

Snook said he was 鈥渇urious鈥� and 鈥渋ncredulous鈥� when he found out about the black hole, which prompted the suspension of the firm鈥檚 finance director, Ashley Martin.

Snook said: 鈥淚t would be true to say I challenged the information I was being provided [with] on a number of occasions during the last year, and investigations were carried out as a result of that.鈥�

He continued: 鈥淧erhaps I should have dug a lot deeper.鈥�
