Midland Construction wound up after leaving behind 鈥渢rail of destruction鈥
A rogue builder has been forced into liquidation after failing to carry out a range of contracts.
Midland Construction, a successor building company to two companies already wound up, deliberately abandoned construction work after being paid.
In one contract, the Cheltenham-based builder received payment of 拢27,000, failed to perform the work properly and left behind a 鈥渢rail of destruction鈥, according to the Insolvency Service.
The High Court found that the UK contractor had operated without insurance, failed to keep adequate accounts, did not register for VAT, and had failed to co-operate with the inquiry by the Companies Investigation Branch of the Insolvency Service.
The company's sole director, James Killick, was connected with Crestmere Construction Ltd and Construction Management Development Ltd, two companies that were wound up in February.
