The mineral wool insulation manufacturer has appointed Newport-based Willdig Lammie Partnership as architect and Cardiff-Based Supporta Bay Associates as consulting project team leader.

The mechanical and electrical engineering contract has been won by Hoare Lea & Partners, based in Cardiff and the Moseley Partnership is the project administrator and quantity surveyor.

The project will house a new production line and involve the construction of a new furnace house and raw material processing plant at the 30-hectare Wern Tarw site.

Rockwool managing director Hans Schreuder said the investment would secure the long-term future of the site and the company. Around 110 jobs will be created.

Rockwool said it needed larger manufacturing capacity because of an increase in demand for its insulation.
