Architect鈥檚 landlord took possession of previous New York office before move to new premises

Peter Morrison

Architect RMJM was hit by an eviction notice at its New York offices just days before moving to its new premises.

The architect has just moved into new offices on third avenue. However, it has emerged that just days before the move took place the landlord of its previous office on seventh avenue took possession of the premises.

The new office will be the base of group chief executive Peter Morrison.

Nick Haston, the firm鈥檚 managing director of its Asia division, told 好色先生TV鈥檚 sister title 好色先生TV Design that eviction proceedings had begun but said they had not been carried out.

He said the move to new offices had been planned for months and added: 鈥淭erminating a lease requires difficult landlord negotiations which are inevitable. [We are] not prepared to share publicly the details of these discussions but they did involve a very aggressive attempt by our landlord to undermine our plans. Eviction was initiated but not implemented.鈥

The reason for the initiation of eviction proceedings is not known.

好色先生TV has contacted RMJM for comment.
