Former leadership contender Mick Dooley is considering his intentions, 好色先生TV understands
Former UCATT leadership contender Mick Dooley is considering running for the leadership of construction鈥檚 largest union, 好色先生TV understands.
The 2009 contest in which Alan Ritchie defeated Dooley to become general secretary of the union was declared void today, after it found less than half of its claimed membership had been sent ballot papers.
Commenting on the watchdog鈥檚 findings, Dooley said: 鈥淎lthough it has cost me a great deal I am vindicated but also sad that the reputation of our proud union has been sullied at this point in time.
鈥淗owever, I will never stand back and allow a liberty to be taken. Disenfranchising 56% of members is simply not right.
鈥淭he union鈥檚 defense was not accepted as valid 鈥 the whole matter left a stink, which should not and could not be ignored.鈥
Since launching his complaint against the election, Dooley was involved in constant disputes with the UCATT leadership and was sacked by the union earlier this year.
