Course is intended to help architects improve fee-earning potential
The RIBA has joined forces with the Bradford Management School to launch an MBA in architectural and construction management.
The course includes modules specified by the RIBA taught alongside accredited Bradford MBA classes.
Geoff Alsop, chairman of RIBA North West said: 鈥The construction industry faces difficult times and an uncertain future. One of the issues that has arisen is that architects have automatically focused on what they do best: design.
鈥淭his leads in certain instances to a shift in focus away from the fee-earning business side of architecture. Management, legal and administrative processes that enable architects to produce excellence in design and execution must be incorporated into an architect鈥檚 skill set.鈥
The MBA will be launched today (October 25) at a reception at the RIBA鈥檚 national headquarters at 66 Portland Place, London.
